GREAT NEWS!   The closing date for entries for the Wangi Scarecrow Competition has been extended until the 26 September 2014 but only entries received before the 14th September will be on the printed version of the Wangi Scarecrow Trail Map

So if your friends and family have not put in their entry yet they still have time.


Entries can be submited and paid for your Scarecrow Competition Entry online or pick up an entry form from select stores in Wangi Village.

Tin Head at 61 Watkins Rd was made by Smith Davies who is 7 years old.



 
Kandline is from Kandlit Candles in Wangi Village.
Kandline is made from pre-loved items.  You can visit her in store or through the store window.  She is already getting lots of visitors
Wangi Scarecrow Awards Day

Join us for the Scarecrow Awards on Saturday 11th October 2014 from 9am to 11am to be held at the Wangi Foreshore.

The Scarecrow Awards will be a fun, community event for all the family with the:-
  • Presentation to the winner of the Scarecrow Competition
  • Community group displays
  • Sausage sandwiches and drinks on sale
  • Raffle draw
  • Wangi Garden Club will have plants for sale
  • Photo display of some of the Scarecrows

So you still have time submit your entry to the Wangi Scarecrow Competition.

You can submit and pay for your Scarecrow Competition Entry online or pick up an entry form from select stores in Wangi Village.

Get your entries in as soon as possible so your Scarecrow can be added to the Scarecrow Trail Map

You can place your Scarecrow in your front yard anytime just remember the Scarecrow needs to be in your front yard from 27th September to the 12th October 2014.   Judging will be done early on the 27th September 2014.

The Wangi Community Garden Committee would like to invite you to the next meeting of the Wangi Garden Club on Thursday 17th July 2014, 7pm to 8.30pm at the Uniting Church Hall, 1 French Rd., Wangi.
 
There will be an open discussion on:-
 
Gardening in Wangi

Come and talk to Wangi Gardeners.

Plants and cuttings will be sold at our TRADE TABLE for very reasonable prices.  All items for sale have been donated. So bring along something from your garden to donate to our TRADE TABLE.  Cuttings, plants, fruit and veg., etc. are all welcome.

Don't forget to bring a plate to share.

Wangi Scarecrow Competition to raise funds for the development of the Wangi Community Garden.
The Wangi Scarecrow Competition, while raising funds for the Wangi Community Garden development, will foster an interest in the community; Wangi Community Garden; Wangi Garden Club; Wangi Area Sustainable Neighbourhood Group; gardening and streetscape gardening.  The Wangi Scarecrow Competition has the potential to bring visitors to the Wangi Area creating an increase in tourism and sales for local business.

Water Features Presentation - Wangi Garden Club
